Police in Texas said more than twenty people who may have been detained as part of a human smuggling operation have been removed from a home in Houston.
Officers responded to late reports of a man in his underwear running down a residential street yelling he was kidnapped.
The officers then drove to a house, where at least 25 men and women were found wearing only underwear. Victims told investigators that they had been detained against their will in the past few days.
A small number of people have been arrested for possible involvement in the smuggling operation.
Most of the people held in the home were from Mexico, El Salvador, Cuba and Honduras. They were taken to a school gym to get out of the cold.
