3 more people were killed in gunfire across Philadelphia as homicide numbers rise

 With only 30 days left in the year, the numbers of spectacular homicides in Philadelphia continue to rise.

Philadelphia Police are investigating three fatal shootings that occurred over exactly 12 hours.

At 6:49 p.m., officers responded to Block 5200 from Kumeli Street, where they found a man lying in a rented location with a bullet in the head.

The death of the victim, Eduardo Morales, 35, was announced at the scene.

At about 1:20 am, officers responded to a 2000 shooting on Albright Street. There, officers found a 40-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Later in the morning, at 6:49 am, police said a man in his twenties was shot four times in Building 2700 on Kensington Street.

He was transferred to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

None of the above incidents were arrested and no weapons were found.

As of 11:59 p.m., Philadelphia police have reported 454 murders so far in 2020 – a nearly 40% increase on the same date last year.
