A passenger dies after a car collides with trees in the province of Escambia

A 26-year-old man from Pensacola died in a car accident early in the province of Escambia.

The man was a passenger in a gray 2020 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling north on Citrus Street, north of Anthony Street, at around 12:30 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old Malibu driver ran the car off the road on the right shoulder.

The driver then excessive the correction as he headed left and collided with a tree on the left shoulder of the road.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The death of the front passenger was announced at the scene of the accident.
