Twelve people were killed and 50 others injured in a shooting accident inside a movie theater on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado
The US police said that a gunman wearing a gas mask and a bulletproof vest fired teargas canisters and opened fire inside the crowded hall.
Police arrested the suspect when he was 20 years old. After his arrest, the young man claimed that there were explosives in his house, and security officials confirmed that the apartment complex in which the suspect resided had been evacuated for inspection.
Later, some media outlets reported, citing sources in the security services, that the person who shot in the movie theater was called James Holmes, a 24-year-old American citizen.
Initial data indicated that seven people were killed in the attack, but security sources confirmed at a later time the death of ten people at the scene, while four others died after being transferred to local hospitals.
