Another victim was reported injured there.
An intense search for one of the suspects appeared to be underway, as a Foxtrot helicopter was flying over their heads and officers were heard ordering one of them to “get out with your hands up.”
Police confirmed a checkpoint – meaning a confrontation with an armed suspect inside a house.
Special Forces officers remained in the area until 11 pm.
At 8:52 pm, a 29-year-old man was found shot in the leg on Wilkins Street near Fulton, in the southwest.
