The American police announced the killing of 50 people and the wounding of 53 others in an armed attack on a gay nightclub in the city of Orlando, Florida.
The mayor of Florida said that the attack was a terrorist act, while police declared a state of emergency throughout the state.
Sources indicated that the perpetrator of the attack on the gay club in Florida of Afghan origin.
And Orlando Police Chief John Mina said earlier that the Rapid Intervention Forces had freed 30 hostages after they liquidated the gunman who was holding them inside the “Balz” nightclub.
Mina added that the police had opened an investigation about the shooting in Florida under the heading of “domestic terrorism,” noting that 9 officers participated in the attack, and one of them was wounded.
Many club customers indicated on social media that a gunman barricaded themselves inside the club and took hostages, and a video recording on the Internet showed police and ambulances surrounding the club building.
One of the club’s patrons wrote on Facebook. I was there at the time of the accident and at around 2 a.m. local time I heard gunfire. The people on the dance floor had to go down and some of us were near the exit so they could get out.
