A girl was shot dead at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis early on.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a call for a potential individual who had been shot at the hotel on South West Street shortly after 1:00 a.m.
Officers took responders to a room on the 20th floor, where they discovered a girl suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the body.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and announced the death of the girl at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to find out the identity of the girl. Police stated that the girl was a guest in the hotel and there were several people inside the room when the shooting occurred.
On Saturday, police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. He was initially charged with a reckless murder.
The police described this incident as an isolated incident that did not pose any threat to the public. All the individuals involved seem to know each other.
