Waterbury Police responded to a report of a man being hit by a car at 62 Chase Street on November 20 around 9:11 PM.
Police say a 41-year-old pedestrian was crossing Chase Street from the south side of the road toward the north side when he was hit by an oncoming Honda Civic while he was walking down the eastbound Chase Lane.
The driver remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators.
According to the police, the medical staff at the site made efforts to help the victim, but unfortunately, his death was announced at 9:32 PM. The office of the chief medical examiner responded and took custody of the deceased.
Officials did not disclose the victim’s name. The chief medical examiner’s office will determine the method and cause of death.
Waterbury Police continue to investigate.
