A 12-year-old boy was shot dead at the entrance to his East Frankford home early in the morning.
Officials say someone either rang the front door bell or knocked on the door of a house on 5000 Street of Detman Street at around 2:50 p.m. The shooter reportedly fired a single 9mm bullet through the front door, hitting the boy in the head and killing him.
The boy’s 10-year-old sister and grandmother were also in the house at the time of the shooting. Neither of them was injured in the accident.
According to the authorities, there was no known motive for the shooting. They say there are no cameras in the area and are urging the public to help find the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
