Police turned to the public on Monday night in the hope of finding witnesses after the body of a woman was found on a driveway in Carlsbad Park.
Police said a person walking along a footpath in Hosp Grove Park found the woman’s body near the Hosp Grove Trail East around 11:15 a.m. The pathologist still did not disclose the woman’s name, age, or cause of death. Police said she looked suspicious.
“I see people there all the time,” said Lisa Jones, a neighbor. “They take wedding photos and are really enjoying the area. So, it’s amazing.”
Another neighbor said that officers went door-to-door trying to find surveillance footage.
Caroline, who did not want to give her last name, said, “This is so scary, and I’m not someone who gets angry.” “All the neighbors are afraid because everyone walks their dogs there.”
You live in a residential neighborhood far from where the police have investigated. She said her 15-year-old daughter was walking in the park around 10:30 a.m., an hour before she made the 911 call.
Officers closed nearby Monroe Street between Hospe Road and Maroon Road for hours.
Jones does not know how she died, and as police continue to search for witnesses, Jones is still comfortable walking her dog on Monday night.
“I know it’s fishy, but I don’t want to jump to any conclusions,” she said.
