A boy, 9, died after being hit by car in phoenix

Phoenix police officials say an investigation is underway following a crash that killed a 9-year-old boy.

The accident happened, according to a statement issued by Phoenix police officials, at the intersection of 36th Street and Thomas Street

Police were called to the scene at around 5:50 PM, and after the officers arrived, they learned that a car heading south on 36th Street had collided with a child who was trying to cross the road.

And part of the police statement stated that “the driver of the car was not injured, and initial information indicates that no signs of weakness were detected.”

Police said the boy, Matthew Callis, died after the accident.
