A woman has died after being hit by a pickup truck in the far north.
The accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Highway 281 north near the Henderson Pass.
Police said the truck driver was traveling too fast when he collided with the woman’s car.
Traffic investigators had to close the highway after the truck collided with the back of a Honda Civic. Honda was pushed about 300 feet before it stopped.
The emergency teams tried to get the woman away from the car, but by the time they managed to get to her, she was dead.
The suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. There is no information if the driver faces any charges at this time.
