A 22-year-old man was killed after police said he broke into an apartment in Phoenix and was shot by a resident.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the shooting occurred in an apartment near 38th Street and Cambridge Street.
Police say Luis Martinez Romero broke into an apartment of a man he knew and was shot.
Romero was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
The apartment resident remained at the scene after the shooting and cooperated with the police.
The case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s office for review.
