Philadelphia Police are investigating four separate shootings that killed five people between the hours of 5 AM and 5 AM.
The first shooting occurred after 5:20 pm. Wed in Square 600 of South 60th Street.
Police say a 28-year-old man was shot several times and was taken to hospital where he later died of his wounds. A 52-year-old man was shot in the hand and was in stable condition.
At around 7:10 p.m., police say a 24-year-old was shot in the head and once in the shoulder at the 4500 complex of North 17th Street. He was transferred to hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead early Thursday morning.
Two men were also killed in a shooting at 6100 Block Calohail Street at night. The officers responded to the shooting at around 10:29 p.m. It found a 21-year-old man and a 31-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Police say a total of 19 rounds were fired in that incident.
In the morning, at around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on 7th Street and Green Street in North Liberties.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a 38-year-old man with three bullets in the back. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
No arrests were made in any of the incidents at this time.
