Authorities reported that a 53-year-old man in Fallbrook was fatally shocked by a car while trying to cross a street in Fallbrook.
California Highway Patrol officer Mark Latulip said a 58-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry heading north on South Mission Road at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday when the victim ran west across northbound lanes near Peppertree Lane He was hit by the sedan.
The officer said the infantry was taken to Temecula Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has been withheld pending family notification.
Latulip said the Toyota driver remained at the scene and that poisoning was not a factor in the accident.
