Meriden’s man is killed in the hit-and-run, and police continue to search for a vehicle involved


Pensacola, Florida

Police are asking the public to help find a car involved in a collision that killed one person.

At about 2:20 PM, police were called to 817 Old Colony Rd, to crash a vehicle against a pedestrian.

When they arrived, they found an old man on the way. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Harold Bell, 56, from Meridian.

Witnesses and video surveillance show a black Honda Accord heading south on Old Colony Road, hitting Bill and leaving.

Officials said Bell was walking to his home, not far from the scene at the time of the accident.

The car was last seen traveling at high speed south on Old Colony Road as it was heading east on Gypsy Road.

Meriden Police is requesting community assistance in locating this vehicle. Honda must have had windshield damage and lose the driver’s side mirror.
