Memphis police said they have arrested a man for raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to an affidavit, MPD received advice from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The advice included an online conversation between a child and an adult talking about a previous sexual encounter believed to have occurred in Memphis
Court records said the adult asked the minor to have sex several times while chatting.
The girl has been identified as a 13-year-old girl.
Court records said the adult was called Bryant Washington, 28, from Memphis.
The girl identified Washington as the person she spoke to during the chat, according to the affidavit.
Police said they told police that he took her from their Memphis home this summer and went to a cove in the Westwood area.
According to the affidavit, Washington forced her to have sex with him after she refused a sexual encounter in the car.
Court records said Washington admitted having had sex with the girl and told police it was consensual.
He was charged with rape and solicitation of a minor.
