A 5-year-old girl has been reported to have been shot overnight in North Philadelphia, and police say the accident appears to be an accident.
The shooting occurred just before midnight in an apartment on 1800 Street of North Sixth Street.
Police say the man dropped the girl in hospital and took off.
The girl was shot in the arm. The bullet hit her hip. Police say the girl’s condition is now stable.
According to investigators, the shooter appeared to be a 30-year-old man who lived in the house and was holding the pistol when it accidentally exploded.
The police are still looking for this man.
We were told that there were five other children inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.
