Nicky McKibbin, who finished third in the first season of American Idol, has passed away at the age of 42.
Sources linked to her family told her that she died of a brain aneurysm and was in hospital on life support machines. Its organs will be donated.
Nikki was a popular contestant on the American Idol show, which debuted in 2002. She has performed in many memorable shows, including the cover of Alana Miles’ song, “Black Velvet”.
She left behind her son Tristan and husband Craig Sadler.
American Idol issued the following statement on the occasion of her death:
“Nikki mcKibbin was a wonderful talent and we are deeply saddened by the news of her death. She was part of the American Idol family and we will really miss her. Our hearts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
