A 20-year-old man who was hiding under the bed of a 100-year-old woman in her home was arrested for raping a perennial while she was at home alone. The traumatic accident occurred in Chakolya village in Nadia, West Bengal, India.
According to the local press, the victim’s 100-year-old granddaughter rushed to help her grandmother after hearing strange noises coming from her grandmother’s room. The girl found the assailant and immediately informed her family members who pulled the rapist from under the victim’s bed and turned him over to the police.
“I heard strange noises, but when I looked through the window, I immediately called others for help when I saw my grandmother,” the granddaughter of the elderly victim told reporters.
Since then, the rapist has been identified as 20-year-old Arga Biswas. Biswas was reportedly drunk when he was taken out from under the elderly woman’s bed and claimed that he did not know what he was doing because he was under the influence of alcohol.
The local police immediately arrested Bisswas and brought him to court. Police are holding Biswas for 14 days until the next court session.
Police officer Rupesh Kumar said, “She was sleeping alone in her house. The house was not locked out for the village culture. Her family found the man when she asked for help.
“When we arrived, we found Arga Biswas under the bed, which the old woman’s family arrested.”
Meanwhile, the 100-year-old victim who was taken to hospital after the attack was discharged and returned to her home
