Authorities said an 8-year-old boy was killed after someone accidentally shot him inside a home in North Carolina.
The shooting took place at around 2 a.m. EST at a house on Ramsgate Drive in Concord. The port reported that Concorde police had arrived to find a boy with a gunshot wound. The department said in a press release that the medical staff announced the death of the child at the scene.
“The investigation is still fluid, but initial indications are that the firearm was accidentally fired by a resident of the house who was the owner of the gun,” the statement said. “At this time, the man who fired the firearm is cooperating and speaking with investigators at the Concord Police Department.”
