 Hampden Police are investigating a fatal crash on Shepherd Street.

The accident occurred and Sheppard Street closed between Sherman Street and West Shepard Street.

Police say 87-year-old Russell Riccio was traveling north on Sheppard Street. He hit a car that was driving south on the same road. After the collision, Riccio’s car veered off the road and crashed into a tree. He was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Died of his wounds.

The 75-year-old Hampden citizen who was in the other car was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
