Police say a suspect was killed in the shooting of an officer involved in Phoenix, and a woman and child were hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to Phoenix Police, the shooting took place at a home near Highway 17 and Jomax after officers responded to the scene and found a woman and child inside the house injured.
The woman and child were taken to hospital in a very critical condition.
Police say the suspect claimed to be armed and that officers shot him after making a gesture that appeared to be seeking a weapon.
None of the officers were injured.
