You can either have Kroger’s weekly ads every weekend and let it sit there unused or you can put it to good use and start saving a lot of money. Me, I prefer getting the most out of it, so I always use it when I shop at Kroger to save a lot of money, and you can too.
The weekend ends with a Sunday newspaper opening and going straight to coupon entries from Redplum and Smartsource so I can plan the grocery shopping list and toiletries I’ll be using at Kroger. The next thing I do is take a weekly Kroger ad and start digging into the special deals laid out for me. It’s easy to pick and choose your products, and easy to see how much you can actually save.
Once I get the coupons and my weekly ads, I can go ahead and create my own shopping list. What I like to do at this point is, on a notebook or notepad sheet, I list all the items I intend to buy for myself and my family on the left, and I make three columns on the right and call them Kroger, Winn-Dixie, and CVS. The reason for doing this is that I like to compare prices on items, and I jot down the prices of each item in columns as I shop in each store. This helps me compare shopping so that I can pick and choose my favorite products at the lowest possible price. It might not sound like much, but if you compare the prices for each item you choose, you can easily save an additional $ 5 from $ 5 per shopping trip just for a beginner.
Then, once you roll out the weekly Kroger ads as well as the weekly circulars from your other favorite stores, your savings will start to multiply quickly.
When you look at Kroger’s weekly newsletter, start looking for offers to buy and get one for free. With these types of deals, you might be able to stock up on non-perishable items for half the price, saving you big bucks in the long run. Next, start looking for “when you buy ten” offers where you can save 50 cents on each item. So, for example, if you want to buy 10 Smart Ones frozen dinners, you will save $ 5.00 by purchasing ten of them.
Kroger’s weekly ads are something you should not do without if you want to save with the basics of lean shopping techniques. If you link the weekly ad with free coupons that you can get from your newspaper or online, you will get a huge savings benefit and it’s not uncommon to save 20-30% of your total purchases on the first try!
