Police say a man was killed in the I-95 North early morning crash.
According to a release, at approximately 2:15 a.m., troops responded to multiple 911 calls to report a car-to-trailer accident in Exit 46 area off the ramp.
Officials said the tractor trailer was driving in the right lane and slowing down to construction traffic in front of it, when it was completed from the back by an accelerating Kia Optima Lx.
The Kia driver, who was later identified as 20-year-old Michael Riley from Wallingford, was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police say that the driver of the tractor trailer was unharmed.
The right and center lanes on I-95 North have been closed in that area for some time while Truck Squad and C.A.R.S. Individuals manipulate the scene.
The Riley family has been notified and the accident is still under investigation.
