A man, 28, was shot in the head in Northeast Philadelphia

A young man fights for his life after police said he was shot a short distance from his home Wednesday night in Northeast Philadelphia.

The 28-year-old victim was shot in the head at 6100 from Castor Street at about 10:30, according to Chief Inspector of Philadelphia Police Scott Small.

The responding officers took the victim to the Einstein Medical Center where he was placed in a very critical condition.

Police did not report any arrests at this time. There was no word of what had started the shooting.
