Police have been called to Block 900 of Poplar Grove to report the shooting shortly before 3:30 PM.
At the scene of the accident, they found a boy who had been injured multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the officers were investigating the shooting, the police were notified of a second shooting. A 12-year-old boy was shot in the foot. He was taken to the district hospital for treatment.
Grieving friends recognized the murdered victim as 16-year-old Jaheem Atkins.
The killing of another child in Baltimore once again evokes strong emotions, from anger to frustration.
