The driver who was killed in a single car crash was identified by the Cincinnati Police Department.
Eugene Meyer, 89, was driving in an S.R. 126 around 26.9 miles around 6 pm. When the police say that his car has veered off the road and collided with handrails and street lights.
Mayer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was kicked out of his car, according to the CPD.
Police said the 89-year-old was taken to the University Hospital Medical Center with serious injuries.
CPD said that during his treatment, Mayer succumbed to his wounds.
Police say failure or speed did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
