A person died after a fatal crash on I-55 in Southaven.
The accident occurred around 8:39 p.m. On I-55 North about half a mile north of Star Landing Road.
According to a statement issued by the Southhaven Police Department, the accident included two cars, a white 2017 Ford F-250 and a silver 2020 Hyundai Elantra.
Hyundai hit the rear of the truck and was badly damaged.
The accident cut northbound travel lanes between Star Landing Road and Church Road.
The Hyundai front passenger was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.
The Hyundai driver was seriously injured and taken to District One by an ambulance.
According to the statement, two children were transported in a Hyundai vehicle to Lebonhir in an ambulance.
Truck driver, James Philip Emerson II of Hernando, Mays has been arrested.
