Police are investigating after a woman died from a stray bullet in Chester.
It happened at the corner of 9th Street and Tilgman around 1pm
According to police, the officers responded to a traffic accident when they fired on a phone call. They say they found Diana Davis, 62, in a car that hit a pole. She was hit by a bullet in the side.
She was taken to the hospital where she died. Chester Police say Davis was an innocent bystander when someone opened fire.
A crime scene has also been discovered on 9 & Central Ave. Officers found many shell casings. Officers also observed a car that appeared to have come under fire. This car was inhabited by two women and a one-year-old child. Passengers reported that they heard numerous gunshots in the area and realized that their vehicle had been hit several times. No passenger in that car was injured during the accident.
Police are searching for three men who were inside a gray Chevy Impala that took off from the scene.
So far, no arrests have been made.
