Police said three people were killed in a shooting at a Houston nightclub, where about 30 people gathered on an open night with a microphone and authorities were searching for the suspects.
The police were called to DD Sky Club at around 9:45 PM. Houston Police Chief Caroletta Johnson told the Houston Chronicle, based on reports that several people were killed indoors.
Johnson said that once the officers arrived, they found three dead at the scene and a fourth person in critical condition.
Investigators believe that two men opened fire after a fight broke out, but officers do not have a clear description of who fired.
Johnson said the Police Department is also investigating whether the nightclub is permitted to open under the restrictions of the current coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this month, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott allowed bars to open 50% if county officials agreed, but Harris County Judge Lena Hidalgo refused to do so for the county that includes Houston.
