Pensacola, Fl
A Pensacola man is in prison after being accused of shooting another man in his front yard.
Jesse Jacobs is now charged with attempted murder.
The victim, Benjamin Lin, who says he’s still covering the incident – physically and mentally.
After nearly five months, he says he cannot move without a walker.
Lin says his stepdaughter was sitting on the balcony when she noticed a stranger hiding behind a tree in their front yard. She says the man, later known as Jacobs, was carrying a pistol and was waiting for her elderly neighbor to leave.
An arrest report stated that she told him not to do anything and leave the property. Lin heard the commotion, ran outside and confronted Jacobs.
Then he was hit by three bullets in the legs.
“I got off the sofa, and I walked into the yard, and I said, ‘You have to leave. Go, get out of here. ”“ I remember being on the ground, rolling on the ground and the red dot of the gun on me. ”
Fortunately, the Lin family was driving home – which scared the shooter.
Police found Jacobs hiding in a neighbor’s backyard, but given complete darkness when the accident occurred, Lynn did not take a closer look at the shooter.
Investigators say new lab reports for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement show bullets pulled from Lynn’s knee and home were fired from Jacob’s handgun.
Jacobs is being held in Escambia County Jail on bonds worth over $ 2 million.
