A 32-year-old woman died and an 8-year-old girl was seriously injured in a car accident on Highway 290 near the suburb of Forest Park, according to preliminary information from Illinois State Police.
At around 4:30 a.m., the woman in the far left lane was driving a 2004 Eastern Chevy Suburban at I-290 near Harlem Street, when she drifted across all lanes and hit the concrete middle barrier, state police said.
