Officials say a 3-year-old boy was killed by his father in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Jason Douglas DeWitt, 38, and his son, Grayson DeWitt, 3, were found dead in a bedroom in a home on High Plane Drive in Bel Air.
At approximately 6 pm, investigators were called to the site after a report of a suicide bomber.
Eyewitnesses told the police that two people, one of them a child, were inside the house.
After entering inside, officials found a handwritten note stating that the explosives would detonate if the search continued.
The deputies immediately left the house and vacated the nearby headquarters.
At 11:30 PM, officials were able to re-enter the house with the help of the Maryland Fire Marshall State Office.
Police found Jason and Grayson, both of whom had a gunshot wound.
