Authorities said a woman shot and wounded a man while he was sitting in the back seat of a North Carolina police cruiser.
Media reported that the man was taken to hospital but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Gaston County Sheriff Joseph Rami said Cramerton Police were called to an apartment complex around 12:15 p.m. In connection with an internal argument involving two men and a gun.
Cramerton Police Chief, Brad Adams, said officers held one of the men in the back seat, even though he was not in custody for a crime.
Adams said a woman later inserted a pistol through the backseat window and shot the man in the hand and chest.
