A 12-year-old boy in Harford County has been charged with four incidents of vandalism, including damaging the “Trump 2020” flag, theft of three Trump banners from Bel Air Square, and vandalism at Southampton Middle School.
The Harford County sheriff’s office said the boy turned himself in to police.
It all began when employees of Southampton Prep School in Bel Air found obscene pictures, profanity and political messages painted on the building.
Representatives also responded to a house on Malcos Road where they found the “Trump 2020” flag damaged, and the house was vandalized with profanity.
Three Trump banners were stolen from the yard of a home on East Broadway, with profanity sprinkled on the house and on Trump’s poster on his car.
The sheriff’s office notes: “Such incidents lead to fear and anxiety in society. It is an important reminder that while we enjoy freedom of expression, this freedom does not extend to painting graffiti and vandalizing private property. Once you do that, it becomes a crime.”
