When News4Jax arrived on the scene after the accident, it so happened that emergency responders had to break into a dark colored sedan, which was completely missing the top half. Another car – a white SUV – had damage to its front bumper. Both cars were in lanes heading north to Roosevelt Street, but JSO did not say how the accident happened.
Traffic stopped in both directions for hours while police investigated and removed the rubble.
JSO’s Traffic Murder Unit is investigating.
