A pedestrian’s car was hit and killed at 2720 South Union Street near Rexland Drive, according to California Highway Patrol.
The CHP responded to the collision at 10:18 a.m. According to the CHP, a pedestrian was standing in the center center and exiting the front of the vehicle before being hit. The driver has not been arrested and the CHP said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
The pedestrian was taken to Kern Medical Center with serious injuries and head trauma, according to CHP. They died later in the hospital.
