Two men were killed when a lightweight plane crashed in southwest Indiana, according to authorities.
The Posse County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as William Rohland, 75, of Garden Grove, California, and Michael Schlichman, 57, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The authorities said that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham said the accident occurred southwest of Evansville. The plane in which the men were on board took off from an airport south of the scene of the accident. The two men were still strapped to their seats when the first responders arrived at the scene.
Latham said investigators in the mayor’s office were working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to find out what caused the crash.
