Florida authorities said a man was arrested after shooting a 5-month-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, killing a student.
Police officers arrested Terrance Young less than two hours after he fled the Daytona Beach shooting site, according to a press release from the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Young, 37, from South Florida, shot the two children with a rifle, but the motive was unclear, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Authorities said the boy was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to a nearby hospital with torso wounds and that the girl was taken to a children’s hospital in Orlando with injuries to her wrist.
Young was held under pending arrest warrants from Volusia and Miami Dade counties for desertion and violation of probation.
