President Donald Trump is being transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after testing positive for coronavirus.
The White House says the president will move to a special ward at the Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, over the “next few days” as a precaution.
President Trump is still in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been running all day. Out of extreme caution, and on the recommendation of his doctor and medical experts, the president will operate from the presidential offices at Walter Reed over the next few days. Press Secretary Kylie McNani said in a statement that President Trump appreciates the support flowing in to him and the first lady.
A White House official said doctors urged the move so that the president could get immediate care if needed. The White House prepares to transport the President by helicopter to President Marine One.
