5 people were killed when a light plane crashed in Louisiana.

ABC News reported that US Federal Aviation Authority officials indicated that the plane had crashed after taking off from Lafayette Domestic Airport, where it fell on top of a car about one mile from the take-off site.

The American Network indicated that there were 6 people on board the ill-fated twin-engine plane (Piper) at the time of the accident, pointing out that the sixth person escaped death, but was injured.

The network said that the plane hit a car and wounded 3 people on the ground as well
