Police are investigating after a person was injured and killed by a truck in South Boston.
According to Boston Police at around 10:47 am, the person was injured at the intersection of Dorchester Street and Southampton Street in South Boston. Roads in that area have been closed due to ongoing investigations.
Boston witnesses reported that the woman was either walking across Southampton Street or coming off the sidewalk when a truck driver hit her.
The truck driver did not stop after the fatal collision, but turned left on Dorchester Street.
Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police found the truck a few blocks away in West Fourth where Boston 25 News saw investigators talking to a truck driver and checking the rear tires of a vehicle.
No charges have been filed in the case.
Boston Police have not identified the victim yet.
