Aldi, a discount grocery that hails from Germany, is opening three new locations in South Florida this fall.
Shops will open in Princeton (just north of Homestead), Kendall and Fort Lauderdale by December, joining 39 locations that have already opened in Miami-Dade, Broward and West Palm Beach. Among them is a newly opened store at Sunrise
The expansion is part of the company’s broader plan to launch 70 stores nationwide by the end of the year. Aldi aims to become the third-largest grocery chain in the United States by late 2022, according to Chris Hewitt, Vice President of Aldi Regional Division.
“This pandemic has reinforced how much consumers depend on us to provide the foods and items they want at the lowest prices possible,” Hewitt said.
