A woman was seriously injured after being shot accidentally by a two-year-old relative this morning.
The Kern County sheriff’s office said that at around 8:30 a.m., MPs were dispatched to an apartment complex at 5500 Norris Street after receiving a call from a shooting victim. When they arrived, the deputies found a woman who had been shot.
The administration stated that the victim was transferred to a local hospital for treatment while she is in critical condition.
While conducting the investigation, KCSO said lawmakers learned that the 2-year-old had found a gun in the apartment and accidentally fired, injuring the woman. The department said the victim was not the child’s mother but a relative.
