Three people were killed after two car crashes shortly after 8:30 pm.
The accident occurred on State Highway 105 two miles east of FM2518 in Cleveland.
Investigators say a truck driver tried to cross 18 wheels to enter the Eastern Corridor and collided head-on with another Chevrolet.
The driver, a 33-year-old Hispanic from Houston, and a passenger in the left back seat of a Western truck, died at the scene. Rear right passenger, 33-year-old Hispanic man who was transported to Memorial Hermann in Houston via Life Flight is in critical condition.
DPS says the other passenger, a 15-year-old boy (seated in the front passenger seat of the westbound vehicle) walked away without a scratch.
The death of the Eastbound truck driver, a 56-year-old man from Saratoga, Texas, has been announced. Lifeflight took the 57-year-old right-hand seat passenger in critical condition to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
