If you want to fill a vacancy in Milton City Council that former councilor Heather Hathaway left open, you have until October 13th to throw your hat in the ring.

Milton City Council is now accepting applications from those who live in Ward 1 to fill a seat for the remainder of Hathaway’s term, which ends December 2022.

Hathaway unexpectedly resigned on September 8, saying she had sold her house in Suite 1 and was no longer living in the proper city neighborhood.

Completed applications and current résumé must be submitted to the city clerk by 4 PM. October 13. Late applications will not be accepted, according to a press release issued by the city. The clerk will review all applications to determine eligibility.

Applicants will be given a chance to present their qualifications on October 22nd for the entire meeting committee. The council will set an official date for October 27.

Applications are available on the city website, miltonfl.org.
