A search is underway in New Brighton, Minnesota for a kayaker that was reported missing after falling into the water at Long Lake.
Police say the boat was not wearing a life jacket when they went into the water. The kayaker is now lost.
Officers ask the public to avoid the area north of the swimming beach on the eastern side of the lake where the kayaks entered.
Crews from New Brighton, the Ramsay County Sheriff’s Office, the Roseville and Minnesota Fire Department, DNR, are helping with the search.
Research efforts are underway.
