Richland Town Police is asking the public for help in identifying the man they say assaulted a 16-year-old boy with special needs at the Walmart Super Center on RT Street. 309 Saturday.
In a post published on the department’s Crimewatch page, police shared a store security photo of the man, who was seen wearing a face mask due to a state health order and Walmart entry requirements that were enacted during the coronavirus pandemic.
Police said the attack took place at 12:01 p.m., when the unknown man was said to have hit the boy in the face.
After that, the police said the man immediately fled the shop and left the area in a white unidentified make and model SUV.
