Four people were shot dead, one of them in West Englewood on the south side.
The group was standing outside around 5 p.m. At Building 6900 of South Claremont Street when someone shot, according to Chicago Police.
Police said a man was injured several times in the stomach and taken to Crest Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as 44-year-old Daryl Rushing, from Market Park. An autopsy ruled that his death was a murder.
Another man, 38, was taken to the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the ankle, and his condition has stabilized.
Police said a 23-year-old man was shot in the back and a 39-year-old woman in the calf. Both settled at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
